Chapter 210: Fox Sisters
Chapter 210: Fox Sisters
The next day, everyone was busy preparing the potions and artifacts for the sales. Rayna was also arranging a few special dishes that she had learned from the library. Today was the first day of their business in Vrilas. None of them wanted to make a blunder. As they say that the first impression is the last impression.
Kadyn sat at the counter, waiting for customers. However, even after a long time, no one appeared. He walked out and looked at the road. He didn’t become impassioned, though. He walked around some and then went back to his counter.
About half an hour later, two Demi-human girls appeared on the same street. They had beautiful white fox tails and fox ears. Both of them looked almost identical. Twins. "Big sister, do you think we’d be able to clear the academy exam this time?" asked the girl on the left.
The other girl smiled gently. "Don’t worry. We’ll definitely become the students of the World Magic Alliance Academy," she said. However, there was a worried look hidden beneath her smile.
"Yes!" said the first girl and balled her hand into a fist. More likely into a fox paw. Hairy and cute. Though there wasn’t any hair on their faces or other parts of their bodies. Except a few, like the tail, hands, feet, ears, and head, of course.
"Since when a restaurant opened at this place?" asked the big sister.
"Wow, let’s go check it out, sister." The girl on the left grabbed the hand of the girl on the right, excited.
The supposedly older sister eyed the shop beside the road and frowned. "Why is it so... deserted?" Then her eyes flashed. "Wait a minute." She eyed the banner one more time. "It is not just a restaurant. They are selling potions and artifacts as well."
"Didn’t your sword break last time, sister? We can see if they have a sword that we can afford." said the younger sister.
The older sister hesitated, but then strolled towards the gate of the shop.
"Welcome to Heaven’s Door, misses," said a boy standing at the door, as he bowed slightly towards the customers.
The girls nodded towards him and sauntered inside the building. The boy’s lips twitched, but he said nothing. Many people wanted this duty, he was lucky to get it. He could earn ten energy points every hour, after all. Not bad. Not bad at all for a new recruit like him.
The sisters entered the hall and looked around with glittering eyes. They thought it was a tiny shop. Only now did they realize how wrong they were. This place was very, very grand. That high ceiling was quite impressive to look at.
The walls with intricate designs were also splendid, and the potions and artifacts behind the shelves on the walls were the most striking and majestic sight. Swords. Mirrors. Boots. Armors. All kinds of artifacts were available. On the other side, they found a spectacular amount of potions as well.
Kadyn had moved the artifacts and potions into the main hall. It was too much hustle to take customers into Potion and Artifact Hall. Now they just refined potions and artifacts in their specific halls, and displayed them here, in the Main Hall.
"What do you want, customers?" a voice attracted their attention. A beautiful figure was strolling towards them. It was none other than Hayla. She didn’t know how to refine potions or artifacts. So she took control of this area, taking care of customers’ needs.
Though she didn’t arrange the shelves or anything. For that work, they had new recruits. Some of them were learning potions and artifacts, but some had no talent for that. So they could just work as such.
"I want to look around before deciding," said the older sister. She was so overwhelmed that it was hard to control her shocked expression. Who knew that such a grand shop, no such a grand business someone would open in this rundown place?
The Demi-human sister looked around and walked towards the Uncommon rank artifact section. The twins were Fusion Rank mages. So Uncommon Artifacts were very suitable. As they arrived in front of a shelf. Their eyes glittered. This was good stuff. They didn’t need to inspect too long to realize how good the goods were.
And when they turned to look at the price, their expression froze. They turned towards Hayla. "Is—is this price correct?"
"Why, of course," said Hayla proudly. "In our shop, we sell premium quality goods at very low prices."
"Ar-are you sure?" repeated the older girl. She had never thought that someone would sell artifacts at such a low price.
"Of course," said Hayla. "But if you have too much money, I won’t mind taking it."
"Ah, I see," the fox sisters became embarrassed. They felt like a bumpkin who had entered a city for the first time. Yet the embarrassed look didn’t last long; it was overwhelmed by the thrill.
The sisters studied the shelf, and it didn’t take long before they decided to buy an artifact. "I want them," said one sister. Hayla couldn’t differentiate them. She followed her gesture and found she was pointing towards two swords sitting inside the shelf. One sword had a blue blade while the other had red. The swords had two opposite elements. Fire and water.
"Are you sure?" asked Hayla. "Those two swords could show their true strength when used together. You won’t be able to unearth their worth if you can’t use them together."
"Thank you for the reminder," said one sister. "Now I’m more determined to get it."
Then the sisters exchanged glances and released a small amount of mana from their body. One of them was shining with blue light while the other had red coloured mana. Then the duo stopped releasing mana and said, "Can you fetch it for me?"
Hayla blinked in surprise and nodded. Then she gestured towards a worker who was standing at the side. Soon, the swords were in Hayla’s hand. Then she pointed towards the counter and said, "You can pay there."
Then she passed them the two swords. The sisters were surprised—because they never saw that shopkeeper handing the swords before the transaction. This shop was indeed unique.
"Go, try the food at our restaurant. You won’t be able to forget the taste," said Kadyn as he took the money from them. The sister exchanged glances and decided to check it out. The artifacts were amazing. They thought the food won’t be too bad if it was recommended by the worker here.
