Chapter 115: Rescue Mission (2)

Chapter 115: Rescue Mission (2)

Leaving her behind, he rolled his shoulders and left her house. Although it was tempting to just lay in her arms and fall asleep, he couldn’t afford that.

Carefully sneaking towards the core area, he realized that he couldn’t just enter as he wished. There were two Core Disciples guarding the gates protectively.

After studying them for a while, Seraph realized they were both strong, and they were being very alert. If he wasn’t careful, they might discover him.

’And I don’t want to kill yet...’

While he was contemplating his options, one of the disciples said something to the other, then went into the core court.

With only one of them present, Seraph was no longer disturbed. He suddenly dashed out from hiding and grabbed at him.

The disciple was stunned and unable to react fast enough. Before he could shout or use his spiritual energy to counter, his body stiffened

Then, his eyes became heavy, and he fell to the ground, unconscious.

Although it was very much harder knocking a Master Stage cultivator, it was easy for Seraph because of his higher cultivation.

Carrying the fainted discipline and placing him in a comfortable sleeping position, Seraph ignored him and sneaked inside.

To his surprise, there was no one on the inside. After looking around and scouting with his spiritual sense, he decided to head in deeper into the area. He continued to move stealthily, avoiding being detected by any trap prepared before

However, to his surprise, there was no mishaps until he reached a part that lacked proper buildings. Here, there were large, deep holes in the ground that were too dark to be seen through even by spiritual senses. The holes were covered by large burglaries that acted as doors to them, making him frown.

’Their so-called dungeon?’ He frowned, his mood turning sour.

Knowing Ariana was inside one of these made him feel like commiting a senseless massacre.

’How do I get in, though?’

He looked around, realizing this dungeon area was quite deserted. Was there really supposed to be no security?

Frowning, he tried to check for anything suspicious but found none. Suppressing the unease in his heart, he decided to stop delaying his plans and move on with his objective.

Crouching beside one of the holes, he checked the locks covering it, then easily melted it with flames. Although the process was quite slow, he still got to remove it. Raising the prison door, he looked at the abyssal maw of the hole, then dived in.

He went down the hole for a while, then stopped by floating midair. He still couldn’t see below him, but he could feel the wind current blowing from beneath him.

Lighting a fireball over his palm, he descended into the hole completely, landing on the damp group. To his surprise, the fireball he made wasn’t needed.

There were almost a hundred fireballs around him, all lit up by an Inferno Sect disciple each.

Seraph’s expression darkened. ’Hmm...’

From among the disciples, Elder Han stepped forward, a scowl on his lips. "White hair and colorful eyes. It’s you, isn’t it?"

Seraph sighed and removed the scarf covering his hair. Then, he put out the fireball in his hand.

"Are you still being petty over a few diamond spirit crystals?"

Instantly, the Elder’s expression rotted. "A few...?"

His voice trembled with rage, remembering the humiliation he had faced as punishment for losing those crystals. The Sect Master had personally stripped him naked and asked some disciples to beat him with thick, smooth ropes for hours.

He remembered every bit of pain and humiliation. Now facing the cause of that humiliation, his anger soared greatly.

"You..."

Seraph cracked his knuckles and cracked his neck, then took out the blood red spear from his storage ring.

"How did you know I was coming, though?"

Elder Han sneered. "Of course, I could tell someone would try sneaking in to get the Soul Cross Sect disciples that have been held captive. It is truly heaven favoring me that made you be the one to come. I am blessed."

The white-haired young man shook his head in disappointment. "Sigh, how wrong you are old man. You are not blessed. You are cursed."

A grin split his face, and he dashed backwards, driving his spear into the heart of a disciple behind him. The young lady was not expecting it and had her life force drained instantly.

Seraph shook her body off his spear, then dashed at someone else. Elder Han’s roar broke out, his voice clouded in rage.

"Seize him!!!"

Several disciples threw themselves at Seraph, shooting powerful techniques straight at him, but he remained unfazed.

He sliced off someone’s head, used four strong wind blades to slice another into pieces, then shot a fire arrow straight at another’s face.

The fight in the dungeon became chaotic.

Several techniques flew over to Seraph, but only a few truly reached him. Most hits were taken by others who wanted to fight him at close range.

The battle stretched for minutes, and they had even gone deeper into the dungeon. Elder Han frowned, realizing that despite the disciples outnumbering him, Seraph remained unharmed.

’How...?’

His spiritual sense spread out, and he was stunned to realize that another spiritual sense of equal strength countered his.

"Who?!"

He looked around in shock and surprise, trying to find out who the hidden enemy was.

Seraph shook his head as he flashed before the man. "Dumbass."

A palm strike connected to Elder Han’s chest, and he crashed into the wall behind him with a loud noise. A stifled groan escaped his lips, and he coughed violently.

That hit was completely unexpected, and he hadn’t been prepared for such force.

’That boy... King Stage... how?!’

It made no sense at all. How could a King Stage cultivator be a young man like Seraph? He was trying to rationalize it, but it wasn’t working.

However, his disbelief soon turned into rage, and he glared at Seraph with hatred. "I’ll... kill you!!!"

Seeing this, Seraph didn’t linger around. He spammed a thousand water blades again and shot them straight at Elder Han while driving into another part of the tunnel.

The man immediately defended himself from the attacks, but the disciples weren’t so lucky. Most of them were killed by the attack, while the rest were gravely injured.

Elder Han’s eyes blazed in anger, and he immediately chased after Seraph with a roar. "You brat! Get back here!"

A large pillar of fire erupted from his chest, shooting straight at Seraph’s back.

The young man immediately turned a corner and dodged, feeling the heat and shockwave wash over him as the flame pillar slammed into the wall behind him.

He continued down the tunnel, his spiritual sense spread out to the maximum as he tried to recognize Ariana and her friends from the prisons lined on both sides of the tunnel.

’Damnit! Where did they keep them?!’

Feeling frustrated, he glanced back to see Elder Han stubbornly pursuing him. The man was really persistent, but Seraph couldn’t blame him. He barely used five diamond spirit crystals to advance into the King Stage. A thousand diamond spirit crystals was nothing to scoff at. He wouldn’t even be surprised if the Sect Master himself came after him by himself.

’Ugh, I shouldn’t jinx it.’

At that moment, he found one life energy that felt familiar—Tamar.

His eyes widened, and he immediately dashed straight towards her prison. The girl was alone in the cage, hugging her knees with her face buried in her thighs.

Yanking the door open, he threw it back at Elder Han, grabbed the girl, then rushed back out.

"Die!"

A flaming sword came flying at him, and he barely avoided being impaled. The sword still sliced into his back, with the flames scorching his skin.

He winced faintly, but didn’t stop. He knew he was taking a great risk at the moment, but he was determined.

Paying attention to the dazed and confused girl in his arms, he said to her, "Do you know where Ariana is?"

The girl blinked and immediately recognized his voice. "Seraph!"

He rolled his eyes. "Thank you for the loud welcome. Now answer my question."

Tamar’s expression darkened, and she answered in a solemn voice. "She’s at the main dungeon. Not far from here."

"Alright." Seraph nodded and said, "Lead the way."

The girl began pointing directions, and for once, Seraph felt relieved that he didn’t have to run around blindly.

Elder Han was still hot on his tail, and he was starting to grow annoyed. A scowl twisted on his lips, and he snarled.

"Old man! Will you leave me alone, you bastard?!"

Elder Han answered with a dark, enraged laugh. "You want me to stop chasing you?! Dream on! You’re dying here today!"

"I’m very sure I’m not dying here, you dumbass!" Seraph snapped back.

["I’m not so sure, boy. It looks like you’re seriously going to die."] Halo said grimly.

Seraph’s eyes widened, feeling a pressure descending from above.

"Holy crap-!"
