Chapter 515 Dilraba's Appearance
Chapter 515 Dilraba's Appearance
As Fu Yibai looked at the students dancing on the stage, he suddenly remembered his time studying at the Beijing Film Academy.
Back then, he would sit in the audience and watch the Beijing Film Academy's gala. The students on stage were showing off their talents, and the teachers in the audience were giving scores.
The shows were performed one after another.
The program includes a folk music ensemble performance of "Jasmine Flower," a scene from the drama "Teahouse," a piano solo of "Ode to the Yellow River," and an excerpt from the group dance "The Red Detachment of Women."
The quality of each program was not low, but there were no performances or actors that caught Fu Yibai's eye.
When the eighth program was announced, the host raised his voice slightly.
"Next, please enjoy the folk dance 'Lift Your Veil'."
The performer is Dilraba Dilmurat.
The curtain is drawn back.
The stage lights switched from cool white to warm gold.
A Uyghur girl stood in the center of the stage, wearing a bright green traditional Uyghur long dress with gold patterns embroidered on the hem. Her hair was braided into dozens of fine braids, and she wore a small embroidered hat on her head.
Her facial features were more defined than those of Han Chinese girls, with a high nose bridge, deep-set eyes, and thick, curled eyelashes.
The music began, a melody of traditional Uyghur folk music, with the strings of the dutar and the rhythm of the hand drum intertwined.
Her body moved to the music.
The students below the stage fell silent.
Fu Yibai leaned back in his seat, his previously vacant gaze refocusing.
This solo dance lasted only three minutes. At the end, Dilraba paused on her last movement, slightly out of breath, and bowed to the audience.
The theater erupted in applause, even more enthusiastic than for the previous performances.
Vice Dean Hu turned his head to observe Fu Yibai's expression and found that the director, who had been expressionless since entering the room, finally nodded slightly.
Fu Yibai wasn't as focused on the next few performances. The last performance was a chorus of "Tomorrow Will Be Better." All the participating students came back on stage and stood in two rows. The applause lasted a long time as the curtain slowly fell.
After the gala, Vice President Hu led Fu Yibai to the reception room next to the theater.
The reception room was small, with a deep red carpet, a dark brown leather sofa, and tea and a fruit platter already laid out on the coffee table.
Several teachers sat on either side, and the conversation shifted from the students' performance level to the teaching achievements of the Shanghai Theatre Academy over the years.
Vice Dean Hu tentatively asked if any students had left an impression on Director Fu. He noted that students from the Shanghai Theatre Academy have a solid professional foundation and suggested that if Chenxi had suitable projects, they could consider taking a few back to gain experience.
Fu Yibai said he did notice one, indicating that the girl dancing the Uyghur dance was quite attractive.
Vice President Hu and Director Wang exchanged a glance, and smiles appeared on their faces simultaneously. Vice President Hu immediately instructed Director Wang to fetch the person.
Dilraba hadn't had time to change her clothes yet, she just wore a long white down jacket over her clothes.
She was still in a daze as she followed Director Wang through the corridor.
Director Wang pushed open the door, and Dilraba followed him in.
Several school leaders and the man she had seen countless times on television were sitting on the sofa.
Fu Yibai leaned back on the sofa, holding a cup of tea in his hand, and was talking to Vice President Hu.
Hearing the noise at the door, he turned around.
Dilraba stood at the door and bowed respectfully to the group.
"Hello, Director Fu, hello, fellow teachers."
Vice President Hu smiled and waved.
"Come on, don't be nervous, sit down and let's talk."
Dilraba sat down on the edge of the sofa, her back straight, her hands on her knees.
Fu Yibai put the teacup back on the coffee table.
"That was a great dance. How long have you been learning?"
"I started learning it in elementary school, and it's been about ten years now."
Dilraba looked up, met Fu Yibai's gaze, then subconsciously looked away for half a second before looking back.
"How did you do in your acting class?"
"We got third place in the department's final performance last semester."
After saying that, Dilraba added another sentence.
"Both the dialogue and physical training classes were in the top five."
Vice Dean Hu chimed in at the opportune moment.
"Dilraba is a very hardworking student. She comes from Xinjiang and has a very solid foundation."
Fu Yibai nodded.
Have you signed with a company?
"not yet."
"Want to sign?"
Dilraba was stunned for a moment.
Of course she understood the meaning of those three words.
Discussions about Chenxi never cease in the dormitory. Whoever signed with Chenxi has a constant stream of resources, and whoever was spotted by Chenxi became famous overnight.
But those discussions were all about other people, about graduates who had already been working in the industry for several years.
She was a sophomore in college and hadn't even submitted a resume.
"Director Fu, you mean...?"
"Your physical appearance is very distinctive, and your basic acting skills are not bad either."
"If you're willing, Dawn can sign you."
Dilraba's mind went blank for a moment.
"I do."
Fu Yibai took out a business card from the inside pocket of his suit and placed it on the coffee table, then pushed it towards Dilraba with two fingers.
"This is my business card."
In a few days, I will have the company's legal counsel and agent come to the Shanghai Theatre Academy. After completing the formalities with the school, we will discuss the specific contract with you.
After signing the contract, the company will match you with suitable projects based on your qualifications.
