Chapter 555 - 362: The End of the Demon and Xue Dili’s Critical Illness Notice
Xue Dili continued searching for the remnants of this civilization.
Whether books, paintings, writings, or information terminals from their civilization, all had turned into petrified products, especially the books, where only the covers could barely reveal a few words, while the pages inside had completely turned to stone.
The 59G in hand was all that could be preserved from the petrified city’s information and civilization.
Finally, Xue Dili silently sealed the petrified city, imprisoned by Demon power, back in the cave. Even the massive mantle shift caused by gravitational pull couldn’t cause a collapse here, perhaps it was the last piece of pre-civilization information he could find.
Yet when Xue Dili just opened a cross-shaped Teleportation Gate, preparing to leave, suddenly, the entire hollowed mountain cave behind him collapsed completely, debris scattered, a wave of air lifting the scattered hair on Xue Dili’s forehead, as if sand and dust were wildly dancing.
Flying debris brushed past Xue Dili’s cheek, leaving slight marks on his face.
He silently watched the dust rising like a mushroom cloud behind him.
He didn’t know if his entrance broke the balance of Demon power, or if the petrified relics, imprisoned by Demon, simply coincidentally couldn’t hold anymore and collapsed.
But seeing the traces of civilization behind him, somehow, a feeling of sadness emerged.
In this rare emotion, Xue Dili slowly closed his eyes, carefully storing the last 59G of photographs in his hand.
Continuing to search throughout Hell, no further information emerged, probably no more pre-civilization relics remained, as after pre-civilization’s extinction, Demons still lived in this world for thousands of years.
Thousands of years, enough to evolve humans from the primitive era of eating raw meat and drinking blood to flying into outer space; it was also enough for these restless Demons to bury everything completely.
These Demons, once the Artificial Gods of Hell civilization, ultimately desperately plundered humans from other planets merely to ensure their own existence.
They even erased their own civilization’s information, culture, customs, and arts, like pure, inherently evil monsters, solely conducting operations to snatch more population.
Xue Dili finally sighed and ceased his search in Hell.
The Divine Tree’s roots had already spread across this planet, barely larger than the Moon, its surface roughly the size of Eurasia. In little over a day, Xue Dili and the Divine Tree had explored the entire planet.
No more useful information remained, only things left by Demons with a strong style inherent to them.
Such as the pure black dark prison created by Dark Demons, the valley piled with various corpses and death by Death Demons, and rooms filled with eerie pseudo-man dolls - these were evidently the handiwork of human Demons.
Photographing them was enough for Xue Dili, as after he left, the creations by these Demons started to collapse and gradually became dust on this planet.
When Xue Dili reached the Divine Tree in Hell, he found a small water pond had appeared around it.
Microorganisms barely surviving in Hell started rapid reproduction, establishing their unique ecosystem around the Divine Tree.
This might be the true function of the Divine Tree; when planted on a Dead Star, it can gather the atmosphere, absorb and solidify more water vapor to form lakes, rivers, even seas.
Then slowly regulate the planet’s ecosystem.
Perhaps after millions of years, a new form of humanity will reappear, gazing at the Green Star in the sky like a green gem, longing for it.
But this might just be Xue Dili’s imagination, as Green Star still had hundreds of thousands of humans; in a few centuries or thousands of years, they may already build rockets and fly towards Hell.
What will happen in the future? Who knows, Xue Dili had done all he wished, leaving the rest to the world to evolve naturally.
This is what Xue Dili thought.
Upon returning to Green Star, he was suddenly startled.
Because a flower bud had surprisingly sprouted on the Insect-devouring Tree, a scene Xue Dili was familiar with — it was a sign of the Divine Tree blooming and bearing fruit.
Why is this so? How could it be so?
Hadn’t I repeatedly instructed my youngest daughter to care for humanity in this world? Why had the Insect-devouring Tree sprouted a flower bud? Could it be those hundreds of thousands of humans...
May it not be as I fear, for then father would have to...
Xue Dili immediately went to the human settlements. What stunned him was, no apparent issues had arisen in the human settlement; they were crafting rudimentary tools as they cultivated wild fields, using fragments of wood and stones to slowly create handy tools.
He paused, looking at the untouched human settlement, and then at the flower-budded Insect-devouring Tree, Xue Dili murmured bewilderingly.
"Why is this?"
He couldn’t understand; even though the Insect-devouring Tree hadn’t devoured a human, how could it still be preparing to bloom?
Wasn’t the condition for the Divine Tree to bloom based on consuming Spirituality? Despite the Insect-devouring Tree having fused with a Bacteriophage, relying on eating those bug-infected humans transformed into evil insect swarms for growth, but now, the Insect-devouring Tree’s situation surpassed all of Xue Dili’s expectations.
